Welcome to 📨🚕 (“MSG.TAXI” or “Service” or “Site” or “Us” or “We”). We keep things honest, minimal, and privacy-respecting – no shiny nonsense, no marketing spin, just a solid service. These Terms of Service explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how we can all get along.
By using 📨🚕, you agree to these terms. If you don’t like them, that’s okay – but you probably shouldn’t use the service.
1. The Basics
You’re signing up for an online service that helps you route data like webhooks to various other channels that you control. We give you an account, you set up your data sources (e.g. incoming webhooks) and target platforms/accounts. We don’t track you, we don’t sell your data. What we do, however, is keep your metadata to a minimum, log as little as possible, and try not to get in your way.
We’re not here to make you the product. We’re here to offer a good service that respects your boundaries.
2. Accounts
To use 📨🚕, you need an account. Please don’t sign up with 100 fake accounts to try to outsmart limits – we’ll notice. We don’t ask for any phone numbers, birthdays or even names, because we don’t want to know any of that. And also because we are poor people who wouldn’t want to pay for extra storage in their database to save all this info. But mainly because we really don’t want to know.
You’re responsible for what happens with your account. Keep your credentials safe. If you lose your password, or your OTP device, we might not be able to help.
3. Pricing and Payments
There’s none. As of right now the service is free to use. This might change in the future to cover for infrastructure costs, but so far we don’t need to go down that route.
4. Content and Privacy
We don’t read any of the data you run through us. Period. Not because we couldn’t – we totally could. We just don’t do it.
We also don’t store logs. Neither do we we collect detailed usage patterns, outside of the per-application statistics that you can see in your account. And we don’t use creepy client-side JavaScript analytics. We run some software that gives us an idea about the general health of our systems, and provides us insights into undesirable or malicious activities. We do that to keep everyone’s data safe. However, this data is ephemeral and not stored anywhere.
We won’t sell your data. We wouldn’t even know what to sell and to whom.
5. Uptime and Support
We aim to keep the service running smoothly. Sometimes things break. Sometimes one of our servers catches fire. We’ll do our best to fix issues quickly – but this is simple data routing, not a pacemaker, so please don’t bet your life on 100% uptime.
Support is available, but don’t expect a 24/7 call center. We’re a small team. Actually there’s a non-zero change that this whole thing is being run by one tired person and a dog.
6. Service Changes
We may update things down the road. If something major changes, we’ll tell you. If something minor changes (like moving a comma), we won’t.
If we ever shut the service down, we’ll do our best to give you time to adjust for that and move on.
7. Termination
You can leave anytime. No loyalty oath required. Just walk away.
We reserve the right to close accounts that abuse the service, break laws, or act in ways that threaten our ability to operate. We’ll try to be fair. But if you’re here to spam, scam, or cause chaos, we’ll show you the door – fast.
8. Liability & Legal
We do our best to provide a solid, honest service, but we can’t promise perfection. If you lose messages, have your data stolen or suffer some kind of indirect apocalypse from using 📨🚕, we’re not liable. If you use this service, you are liable for whatever you do under your account and the data you provide us with. If you try to do bad things and weaponize this service for that purpose, you are responsible. Or to put it in lawyerspeak:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall 📨🚕, its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, licensors, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, whether in an action in contract, tort (including but not limited to negligence), equity, or otherwise, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall the total liability of 📨🚕 for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the use of the service exceed the amount paid by you to 📨🚕 for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if no such payment has been made, one U.S. Dollars (US $1).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain types of damages or claims. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. If you are subject to such jurisdictions we hereby refuse to serve you.
